Confined SPaces

GUIDANCE on which course is needed

The individual elements can be attended in any order and are not dependent on having completed the other elements…

CONFINED SPACES
Safe Entry & ESCAPE BA (Day 1)

Suitable for operators who can for the majority of the time remain attached to a winch rope and who do not have the need to traverse along tunnels or move long distances away from the entry point.  The training is based on Water UK recommended standards (which are largely modelled around Thames Waters’ standards) and is equivalent to the supervisory level training recommended in that standard so is suitable for both operatives and/or their Supervisors/Managers.  It also covers the basic elements of a confined space risk assessment although those who have a regular need to carry out risk assessments should consider doing the Confined Spaces Awareness and Risk Assessment course which places more emphasis on risk assessment and less on the practical elements.

CONFINED SPACES
WORKING BA (Day 2)

Suitable for those who may have need to carry out work in a potentially dangerous atmosphere (e.g. changing chemical cylinders where there is a potential for a gas leak during the operation) and for those who have to traverse along tunnels or ducts or who may have to carry out a rescue in a potentially dangerous environment.

CONFINED SPACES
EMERGENCY FIRST AID INCLUDING OXYGEN RESUSCITATION (Day 3)

Similar to other 1 day Appointed Persons or Emergency First Aid courses but also covers the use of the Oxygen Resuscitator, which is not covered on those courses or on the full three day First Aid at Work course.
